Here is a rundown of our Liturgy from this past Sunday!

CALL TO WORSHIP
Hear the call to worship from Psalm 111...
Praise the Lord!
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the works of the Lord,
studied by all who delight in them.
Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
and his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and merciful.
He provides food for those who fear him;
he remembers his covenant forever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy;
they are established forever and ever,
to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
He sent redemption to his people;
He has commanded his covenant forever.
Holy and awesome is his name!
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever!

CONFESSION OF SIN
Let us confess our sins to the Father together…
Father,
Forgive us for our anxious fears,
for Your goodness has helped us believe,
but our faith is weak and wavering.
It’s light is dim, and it’s steps are tottering,
it’s increase is slow, and backsliding is frequent.
Our faith should scale the heavens,
yet it lies groveling in the dust.
Holy Spirit, exalt Christ in our hearts.
Give us strength to trust him, for we are weak,
and it is hard to practice what we believe.
Thank you for the times of fear and pain,
when you dismantle our idolatries,
and disarm the fortresses
that we run to instead of You.
When life is stormy, let us find safety, peace,
and hope in Christ, our best refuge,
and only source of true lasting strength.
Amen.
ABSOLUTION
Hear the good news from Romans 5...
Since we are justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand;
and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.
To those who have turned from their sin, and placed their faith in Christ, know that you are forgiven, and be at peace!

PROFESSION OF FAITH: MSA Catechism Q. 36
Let us profess our faith together by answering the following questions from the Morning Star Catechism...
L: Q34 -Did our Lord Jesus ever commit the least sin?
C: A - No; He was holy, harmless, and undefiled.
L & C: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21
We had the opportunity to celebrate a few baptism and a dedication this Sunday!
BAPTISM
Hear these words of Jesus, an invitation and a promise offered to us all:
Congregation of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Let us hear our Lord’s command concerning the sacrament of holy baptism. After he had risen victorious from the grave, Jesus said to his disciples: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” [Matthew 28:18-20]
So in obedience to this command, the church baptizes believers and their children.
Would everyone seeking baptism please come forward.
L: To the Parents baptizing children: Parents, Having heard God’s gracious promises to us in Christ, do you desire that your children be baptized?
Parents: I/We do.
L: To the Others being baptized: Having heard God’s gracious promises to us in Christ, do you desire to be baptized?
Others: I do.
L: To All: Do you intend to be Christ’s faithful disciple, trusting his promises, obeying his Word, honoring his church, and showing his love, as long as you live?
All: Yes, God helping me.
L: To the Parents baptizing children: Parents, Do you promise to instruct these children by word and example, with the help of the Christian community, in the truth of God’s Word, and in the way of salvation through Jesus Christ?
Do you promise to pray for them and teach them to pray? Do you promise to nurture them
within the body of believers, as citizens of Christ’s kingdom?
Parents: I/We do, with God helping me/us.
[ADMINISTRATION OF THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM]
(To the congregation) Please stand.
L: To Whole Congregation: Brothers and sisters,
we now receive those who have been baptized into Christ’s church. Do you welcome them in love,
and do you promise to pray for, encourage, and help nurture them in the faith?
C: We do, God helping us.

LITURGICAL PRAYER
Please Stand and let us pray to our Father together...
Almighty God,
who has given Your holy Son
to be to us both a sacrifice for sin
and also an example of Godly life,
give us grace that we may always
thankfully receive these benefits
and daily endeavor to follow
in the steps of Christ’s most holy life.
Amen.

BENEDICTION
As we leave here today…
May the Lord, who longs to be gracious to you,
who waits on high to have compassion on you,
plant you firmly in the faith, established, steadfast, and unmovable,
through the hope of the gospel, proclaimed to all the creation under heaven.
L: Peace be with you!
C: And also with you!
