Welcome back to Sacred City’s Liturgy Recap. Here you will find a complete rundown of all that happened as we gathered this past Sunday!

-Opening Song:

- Call To Worship:

Hear the call to worship...

Long ago, at many times and in many ways,

God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,

but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,

whom he appointed the heir of all things,

through whom also he created the world.

He is the radiance of the glory of God

and the exact imprint of his  nature,

and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.

After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

In this season of Advent, let us worship our King Jesus, who was, who is, and who is to come! Come, let us worship the Lord together!

- Song:

- Confession of Sin:

Let us confess our sins to the Father together…

  Merciful God,

always with us, always coming:

We confess that we do not know how to prepare for your Advent.

we have forgotten how to hope in miracles;

we have ignored the promise of your kingdom;

we get distracted by all the busyness of this season.

Forgive us we pray, O Lord,

and grant us now, in the quietness of our hearts

to be made ready for Jesus coming.

In Christ name, Amen.

- Absolution:

Hear the good news...

 Surely God's salvation is at hand for those who fear him,

that his glory may dwell in our land.

Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet;

righteousness and peace will kiss each other.

Faithfulness will spring up from the ground,

and righteousness will look down from the sky.

The Lord will give what is good,

and our land will yield it's increase.

Righteousness will go before him

and will make a path for his steps.

In Christ, God's salvation is at hand, and righteousness has come.

Thanks be to God!

- Song:

- Profession of Faith:

- Sermon: "What Child is This?" by Pastor Justin Dean

- Communion/Benediction:

As we leave here today…

In this season of advent, may the Father’s light shine in your darkness.

May the spirit open our eyes to see his coming,

and may Jesus’ glory outshine the tinsel, the gifts, and the hustle and bustle of the season. Go in hope of the peace he brings to the world.

Peace be with you!
