Welcome back to Sacred City’s Liturgy Recap. Here you will find a complete rundown of all that happened as we gathered this past Sunday!

- Song:

- Call To Worship

Hear the call to worship...

 We gather in preparation

for good news is about to be proclaimed

We gather in expectation

for joy is about to explode in our midst.

We gather in celebration

For we are those people who have said

yes to the manger, yes to love enfleshed,

yes to the one incarnate for others

yes to the wholeness of God

With preparation and expectation,

 Let us join with the words of Psalm 98, which say:

                  Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;

                 break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

                 Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre,

                  with the lyre and the sound of melody!

                 With trumpets and the sound of the horn

                 make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD!

                   Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;

                 the world and those who dwell in it!

                 Let the rivers clap their hands;

                  let the hills sing for joy together

                 before the LORD, for he comes

                  to judge the earth.

                 He will judge the world with righteousness,

                 and the peoples with equity.

- Song:

- Confession of Sin:

Let us confess our sins to the Father together…

 Gracious Father,

We confess that often we try to replace your gift

of your Son Jesus Christ with our own efforts.

We try to complete what is already perfect;

we try to add to what is already full;

we try to earn what we already have.

Forgive us for our foolishness.

Help us to focus on your grace.

Help us to live grateful lives in return.

for Jesus' sake alone. Amen.

- Absolution:

Let us find joy in the reassuring words from the Gospel of Matthew...

 "She will give birth to a son,

and you are to give him the name Jesus,

because he will save his people from their sins."

Thanks be to God for fulfilling his promises to us in Jesus Christ!

- Song:

- Profession of Faith:

Let us profess our faith together...

We praise you, O God,

for sending your Son, Jesus,

to be King of kings.

We rejoice that he has triumphed

over all the powers of this world

and governs the nations in justice and righteousness.

We celebrate the victory He won

by his life, death, resurrection, and ascension.

By your Spirit, claim our complete loyalty;

Establish Christ's rule in every land and in every heart.

Accept our worship as we offer our lives

in the service of His kingdom.

He is Lord forever and ever. Amen.

- Communion/Benediction:

As we leave here today…

In all your Advent preparations, remain watchful with your eyes on Christ,

whose birth in a manger is but a promise of his coming again in glory.

And may the blessing of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be with you now and forever. Peace be with you!
