Welcome back to Sacred City’s Liturgy Recap. Here you will find a complete rundown of all that happened as we gathered this past Sunday!
- Opening Song:
CALL TO WORSHIP
Hear the call to worship from Psalm 111...
Praise the Lord!
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
In the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the works of the Lord,
Studied by all who delight in them.
Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
And his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
The Lord is gracious and merciful.
He provides food for those who fear him;
He remembers his covenant forever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
In giving them the inheritance of the nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
All his precepts are trustworthy;
They are established forever and ever,
To be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
He sent redemption to his people;
He has commanded his covenant forever.
Holy and awesome is his name!
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
All those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever!
- Song:
CONFESSION OF SIN
Let us confess our sins to the Father together…
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit,
to sustain me.
ABSOLUTION
Hear the good news Isaiah 53 tells us...
Surely he has borne our infirmities
And carried our diseases;
Yet we accounted him stricken,
Struck down by God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions,
Crushed for our iniquities;
Upon him was the punishment that made us whole,
And by his bruises we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have all turned to our own way,
And the LORD has laid on him
The iniquity of us all.
If you have confessed your sin and believe upon Christ for your salvation, know that He was struck down to raise you up, he was wounded and diseased that you might be healed, and he was punished that you might be rewarded. Truly, Christ traded his righteousness for your sin. Thanks be to God for the perfect sacrifice of His Son in our place!

Congratulations to Doctor Tom Lyons and Doctor Casey Shutt, and thank you for your hours spent in learning, training, and being tested for this high calling.
