Welcome back to Sacred City’s Liturgy Recap. Here you will find a complete rundown of all that happened as we gathered this past Sunday!

- Opening Song:

CALL TO WORSHIP

Hear the call to worship from Psalm 96...

Oh sing to the Lord a new song;

Sing to the Lord, all the earth!

Sing to the Lord, bless his name;

Tell of his salvation from day to day.

Declare his glory among the nations,

His marvelous works among all the peoples!

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;

He is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,

But the Lord made the heavens.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;

Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;

Let the field exult, and everything in it!

Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy

Before the Lord, for he comes,

For he comes to judge the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousness,

And the peoples in his faithfulness.

Song:

CONFESSION OF SIN

Let us confess our sins to the Father together…

Almighty and merciful God,

we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.

We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.

We have offended against your holy laws.

We have left undone those things which we ought to have done;

and we have done those things which we ought not to have done.

O Lord, have mercy upon us.

Spare those who confess their faults.

Restore those who are penitent,

according to your promises declared to the world in your son.

And grant, O merciful God,

that we may live in your light

and walk in your ways

for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

ABSOLUTION

Hear the good news...

Jesus Christ has offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins.

By this offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

As God promised: “I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds;

I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

So then, If you have confessed your sins this morning, and have turned to place your faith in Jesus Christ, rest assured that you are forgiven and loved by the Father! Christ performed perfectly in his life, and satisfied the wrath of God in his death, and rose from the grave in defeat of your sin, all so your striving for approval and acceptance could cease, and that you could simply abide in the love of your Savior!

L: Q11 - Can you see God?

LITURGICAL PRAYER

Please Stand and let us pray to our Father together...

Amen.

BENEDICTION

As we leave here today…

Go equipped by the grace of God and surrounded by salvation’s walls. Let nothing shake your peace and confidence, for you have a sure foundation that nothing can shake, and that foundation is Jesus Christ.

L: Peace be with you!

C: And also with you!
