Every Sunday we gathering to hear the Gospel story, to remember the good news that Jesus came and lived the life we failed to live, and died the death that we deserved, all that we might be brought into a relationship with the Father. As His redeemed children, we gather to sing to our heavenly Father, repent over our sin, and replant our faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Then by His Spirit, after receiving His word from Scripture, we sent out as His missionary people. Here is a recap of what that all looked like for us this week.

-Opening Song: "Oh Taste & See"

CALL TO WORSHIP

Hear the call to worship from Psalm 29 ...

Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones,

       ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;

       worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

The voice of the LORD is over the waters;

       the God of glory thunders,

       the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.

The voice of the LORD is powerful;

       the voice of the LORD is majestic.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;

       the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,

       Sirion like a young wild ox.

The voice of the LORD strikes

       with flashes of lightning.

The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;

       the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

The voice of the LORD twists the oaks

       and strips the forests bare.

       And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;

       the LORD is enthroned as King forever.

The LORD gives strength to his people;

       the LORD blesses his people with peace.

CONFESSION OF SIN

Let us confess our sins to the Father together…

Almighty God, who knows all and sees all:

We confess our constant striving for righteousness,

acceptance and approval from sources that leave us empty.

We confess that we have mistaken Jesus

for a mere friendly companion or helpful problem-solver.

We confess that we do not appreciate the depths

of his passion and sacrifice on the cross,

and fail to acknowledge him as our only way of salvation.

Forgive us, we pray, and renew our hope in Christ alone,

who offered himself to appease your wrath and forgive our sins!

ABSOLUTION

Hear the good news from Ephesians...

This saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance,

That Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

He himself bore our sins

In his body on the cross,

So that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.

I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, You are forgiven.

LITURGICAL PRAYER

Please Stand and let us pray to our Father together...

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
