Sunday morning worship gatherings at Sacred City Church are designed to shape us in the Gospel. Whether through the flow of the Liturgy, the story of the Gospel told in song, the preaching of the Word, or at the Lord's supper, we intend to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in as many ways that we can, for it is this good news that is the power of God unto salvation. We believe this is good news for those already in a relationship with Christ, and those who do not yet know Christ as Savior and Lord. This is what the proclamation of that Gospel message looked like for us this Sunday as we gathered to worship together:

CALL TO WORSHIP
Hear the call to worship from Psalm 95 ...
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
Let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
And a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
The heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
And his hands formed the dry land.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God,
And we are the people of his pasture,
And the sheep of his hand.
Today, if you hear his voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,
As on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
When your fathers put me to the test
And put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.
For forty years I loathed that generation
And said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,
And they have not known my ways.”
Therefore I swore in my wrath,
“They shall not enter my rest.”
- Song: "How Great Thou Art"
CONFESSION OF SIN
Let us confess our sins to the Father together…
Lord, You come to us, but we do not recognize You;
You call, but we do not follow;
You command, but we do not obey,
You bless us, but we do not thank you.
Please forgive and help us.
Lord, You accept us, but we do not accept others;
You forgive us, but we do not forgive those who wrong us;
You love us, but we do not love our neighbors.
Please forgive and help us.
Lord, You showed us how to carry out Your mission,
but we still insist on our own;
You identified with the poor and needy,
but we seek our own wants and desires;
You suffered and died for all, but we turn to our own comfort.
In the midst of our lack of faith, You are always faithful!
Please forgive and help us,You are the faithful one! Amen.
ABSOLUTION
Hear the good news from Hebrews 10...
Jesus Christ has offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins.
By this offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
As God promised: “I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds; I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.
- Song: "Nothing But The Blood"

LITURGICAL PRAYER
Please Stand and let us pray to our Father together...
Almighty God,
we ask You that we,
who for our evil ways are worthy of punishment,
by the comforts of Your grace, may mercifully be relieved;
Through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.
- Song of Response
BENEDICTION
As we leave here today…
May the grace of Christ, which daily renews us, and the love of God, which enables us to love all, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, which unites us in one body, make us eager to obey the will of God until we meet again, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
[based on 2 Corinthians 13:13]
L: Peace be with you! C: And also with you!
