Welcome back to Sacred City’s Liturgy Recap. Here you will find a complete rundown of all that happened as we gathered this past Sunday!

Opening Song -

Call To Worship -

Hear the call to worship from Psalm 24...

The earth is the Lords, and everything in it, the world and all who love in it; for he founded upon the seas and established it upon the waters. Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the generation of the those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Lift up your head, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. WHo is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; Lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty- he is the King of glory!

Confession of Sin -

Let us confess our sins to the Father together...

Gracious and merciful God, we confess that time after time we have entered your presence with countless prayers but with hearts that have been closed to your grace. We have lifted our hands to you in praise, but our feet have still walked in the ways of evil. We have rehearsed your commandments, but have refused to serve our neighbor. We humbly ask that you forgive our lack of faith and pardon our acts of injustice. Grant us healing that comes from your presence  and from the strength of you all- powerful Word through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Absolution -

Hear now the reassuring truth from the Psalms...

Let those who fear the Lord say, "His steadfast love endures forever." Out of my distress i called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. I shall not die but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.

To you who have confessed your sin and trust in Jesus, rest in the truth that salvation belongs to the Lord, who has brought your life up from the pit!

Profession of Faith -

Let us profess our faith together...

We rejoice and affirm that the Lord is gracious and merciful, he is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He is good and his mercy is over all that he has made. The mercy of the Lord is such that he upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. He gives food in due season to those who look to him and he satisfies the desires of everything living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. He is near to all who call on him in truth and he saves those who fear him. The Lord preserves all who fear him, but the wicked he will destroy. Our mouths shall speak the praise of our most gracious and merciful God!
