"Waiting is a period of learning. The longer we wait, the more we hear about him whom we are waiting for."

This week, we will continue our series for Advent called "Songs for the Savior", where we take some of the most familiar and beloved Advent Hymn texts of all time, and show how they tell the story of the Gospel and point to the Christ who came, who is with us now, and who will come again.
This Sunday, we will focus in on the song "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing". This is perhaps one of the most well known Christmas tunes of all time, and just so happens to be packed with rich theology. We will pair this text with some of the scripture it is rooted in the book of Luke chapter 2, and spend time unpacking the songs famous lines. "Veiled in flesh, the God-head see, veiled incarnate deity." Jesus was God in the flesh. His glory veiled through skin and bone! What a gracious and glorious Savior is He!
