This Sunday we begin chapter 2 of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus is continuing to attract large crowds as they hear about his teaching and miracles He has performed. This account escalates pretty quickly as we see the crowd pressing in upon the home where Jesus was, and men begin to tear through the roof of the home, desperate for their paralyzed friend to be healed by Jesus. In this story, we see Jesus drawing parallels between physical healing and the forgiveness of sins. He's continuing to make big claims, that He is not just a miracle worker but He is God in the flesh who comes not just to heal the sick, but to forgive sinners. Mark 2:1-12 will be our text, be sure to read through it for yourself, as we prepare to dive deeper into the person and work of Jesus this week.
Some songs we will be singing...
