This week was the second week of Advent and we focused on the Glory of Jesus - that even as a small infant he was celebrated by the angels and shepherds came from the fields to see him. Typically we rally behind people with great accomplishments to give them praise and honor. Our culture celebrates people like Bill Gates & Steve Jobs who have a huge impact on technology, Michael Jordan for his unmatched basketball career, and musical artists like the Beatles who have changed music forever. But very rarely does our culture celebrate some one who hasn't accomplished anything, like a lowly baby born in a manger. This is what makes the birth story of Jesus so incredible. Angels came from heaven and sang joyful songs of celebration and praise when the Son of God was born in Bethlehem! That is evidence of the glory of Jesus.
Take some time at the dinner table or before bed to go over this week's Family Worship Guide and help your children memorize this week's catechism questions.
